In this episode, I’m trying something a little different. Rather than teaching a piano concept, I’m sharing my reaction to Eric Church’s 2026 commencement speech at the University of North Carolina.
Using the six strings of a guitar as a metaphor for life, Church reminds graduates that beautiful music—and a meaningful life—depend on keeping the important things in tune.
As I listened, I couldn’t help but hear lessons for piano students and their parents.
